Yesterday I had to take a picture for ID card in my kecamatan (what is it in English anyway?). At first, I'm impressed by the way they served us They greet us warmly. They smiled oftenly. So I guess this would be easy. But I guessed wrong.
When I go to the photo booth, there're two people already in the line. The woman was sitting and ready for a picture. The man was standing and waiting. So I stand behind him.
(5 minutes later)
I'm still standing
(another 5 minutes later)
Wow, there's a hole on this guy's back shirt. A long one. Prolly because he was running into some broken fence
(yet another 5 minutes later)
Hmm... his shoes is covered with mud. He might've stepped into a... what the fuck am I thinking?! That's not important! What took them so long to get a fucking picture? Just A fucking picture!
Looked like there's a problem with the computer. I heard the operator cursing on the computer. She turned it on and off many times. And finally decided to call her colleague.
The operator: Why can't I see the picture?
Colleague: Hmm... let's see... hmm.. it's not like this yesterday..
The operator: Yes, yesterday was fine. But now I can't see the God damn picture at all!
Colleague: Relax.. maybe if I did this... naaah.. or this... nooo.. that would be unwise...
The operator: So?
Colleague: I gave up! It's already programed. I'm afraid. Let me call Andy (not real name)
Andy: What seems to be the problem ladies? Aaahh... it's simple... all you have to do is....... Hmmm... it's not working... I'll contact someone...
Andy: Sir, we have a problem here. We couldn't see the picture. What sir? No, we can't see the picture at all. Usually the start button is on the left screen and this one is on the right!
WHAT!?! Then I rushed to the computer and see the monitor with my own eyes. Turned out, they couldn't see the picture because it was BLOCKED BY THE TOOLBAR!
After some arguing with Andy (he yelled at me and said I'm just going to make it worse), I just took the mouse and move the toolbar. The operator thanked me. The woman and the man thanked me. Andy didn't. He suddenly disappeared. And then finally the operator take a picture of me. Not a very nice picture though, as usual.
